Breeds in southern Canada (from Saskatchewan east to Nova Scotia), south through Great Lakes region to north-eastern USA (Minnesota east to New England) and south in Appalachians to northern Georgia and northern Alabama. Migrates to non-breeding grounds mainly from south-eastern Mexico south to Panama. A few winter in Caribbean.
