Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
- seridoensis Sick, 1991 - Seridó, north-eastern Brazil.
- biscutata (Sclater, 1865) - Minas Gerais south to Rio Grande do Sul, eastern Brazil. Also recorded in Paraguay and northern Argentina.
