Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest. Also, subtropical and tropical lowland moist shrubland, heavily degraded former forest, plantations. From 100 - 400 m.

Range (Guide)

Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela.

Estimated population is unknown (2010).

Subspecies
The following 4 subspecies are recognised:

largipennis (Boddaert, 1783) - Eastern Venezuela, the Guianas and R Negro region of north-western Brazil.
aequatorialis Gould, 1861 - Eastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, eastern Peru and northern Bolivia to north-western Brazil.
obscurus Gould, 1848 - Eastern Par� and Maranh�o (north-eastern Brazil).
diamantinensis Ruschi, 1963 - Serra Espinha�o in Minas Gerais (south-eastern Brazil).
