Green Oropendola (Psarocolius viridis) [XC17213]
by Andrew Spencer from Yasun\u00ed Research Station, Parque Nacional Yasun\u00ed, Orellana, Ecuador (song)
Subspecies
No subspecies.
Analysis of mitochondrial DNA indicates present species is closer to Amazonian Oropendola (Psarocolius yuracares) than to Crested Oropendola (Psarocolius decumanus). Populations in north-eastern Peru sometimes separated as subspecies flavescens (described from Xeberos, in eastern Peru), but this separation seems unwarranted.
