Habitat
Semi-desert, with fairly dense thickets of Acacia and Commiphora on rocky ground and red sandy soil. From 300 - 900 m.
Ethiopia (B), Somalia (B).
NW, central and south-western Somalia (from Burao and Daba Dalol south to Iesomme, and around Wajit and Lugh); also adjacent south-eastern Ethiopia (Bhogal Mayo and Gheraro).
 
Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010).
Status DD
Exploitation of its scrub habitat for charcoal production and extraction of gum and resin is the main threat.
