A hollow on the forest floor made by the bird, and thinly lined with grass and plant stems.
Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
solitarius (Vieillot, 1819) - Eastern Brazil, south-eastern Paraguay, extreme north-eastern Argentina.
pernambucensis Berla, 1946 - East-central Brazil.
