Subspecies
Often placed in Prinia, but genetic evidence indicates it is distinct.
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:
etoshae (Winterbottom, 1965) - Northern and central Namibia.
ocularius (Smith, A, 1843) - Southern Namibia, southern Botswana and northern South Africa (south to R Orange).
pectoralis Smith, 1829 - Southern South Africa (south of R Orange and south-western Free State).
