Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest, temperate forest, temperate grassland, dry savanna. From sea-level - 3,000 m.

Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo [The Democratic Republic of the], C�te dIvoire, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-bissau, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania [United Republic of], Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Senegambia east to Ethiopia and Somalia, and south to north-eastern South Africa.

Population
Estimated population is 100,000 (2010).
