Vagrant to Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, French Guiana, Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, Lithuania, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia (Asian), Senegal, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan (China), United Kingdom.

North-west to central-eastern North America and southern as far as north-eastern California and northern Colorado.
 
Population
Estimated population is 2,200,000 (2010).
