Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest.
USA (E) (B).
Status EX
Common in 1825 but became extinct some time after. Reason for decline not known but habitat destruction and avian malaria were likely causes.

Subspecies
Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Olomao (Myadestes lanaiensis).
