Habitat
Dense scrub-covered hillsides with loose rocks, in bush-dotted riverine plains in the upper coniferous montane forest belt. From c.3,300 m to the treeline.

Range (Guide)

China (mainland) (B).

North-central China (Qinghai, Gansu, Ningxia). Non-breeding southern Shaanxi, Shanxi, Hebei, Beijing.

Population
Estimated population is 10,000 - 19,999 (2010) and decreasing.

Status NT
Habitat destruction is the main threat.
