Nest
A bulky structure composed of sticks and twigs, lined with finer twigs and plant material, and situated 5-15 m above the ground in the dense canopy of a tree.
Subspecies
No subspecies.
Has been suggested as forming a superspecies with Plush-crested Jay (Cyanocorax chrysops) and White-naped Jay (Cyanocorax cyanopogon). It is also another suggested its nearest relative may be White-tailed Jay (Cyanocorax mystacalis).
