Subspecies
No subspecies.
Genus as presently constituted is probably polyphyletic, and in need of further study. Syringeal characters suggest that present species and Sulphur-bellied Tyrannulet (Mecocerculus minor) are possibly related to Phyllomyias, specifically to Tyranniscus if latter resurrected.
