Vagrant to Aruba, Bahamas, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Falkland Islands (Malvinas), Haiti, Iceland, Jamaica, Netherlands Antilles, Portugal, Puerto Rico, St Pierre and Miquelon (P), Turks and Caicos Islands, United Kingdom.

Generic placement of species unstable over past half-century. Has been thought close to Turdus, but latest evidence suggests that treatment in Catharus may be appropriate. In past, present genus was sometimes broadened to include five species of Catharus.
