Habitat
Subtropical and tropical montane moist forest. From 100 - 3,000 m.
Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama.
Southern Mexico (southern México State to Yucatán) and Belize through northern Guatemala and western and central Honduras into bordering Nicaragua; two further small populations, one in northern Costa Rica, and one in southern Costa Rica and adjacent western Panama.

Estimated population is 20,000 - 49,999 (2010).
