Habitat
Subtropical and tropical dry and moist shrubland, dry savanna. From sea-level - 1,000 m.
Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela.
Eastern Colombia (Serranía Chiribiquete east to Vichada and Guainía), northern Brazil (upper R Negro), and Venezuela south of R Orinoco east to French Guiana; small isolated populations in north-eastern Peru (San Martín; possibly also northern Loreto) and northern Brazil in Amazonas (west of lower R Negro) and southern Amapá.
