Subspecies
Commonly placed in genus Napothera.
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:
annamensis (Delacour & Jabouille, 1928) - Southern China (southern Yunnan), northern Laos and northern Vietnam (Tonkin, northern Annam).
crispifrons (Blyth, 1855) - South-eastern Myanmar (including northern Tenasserim) and north-western and western Thailand.
calcicola Deignan, 1939 - South-western part of north-eastern Thailand. Considered by some authors to be a distinct species, Rufous Limestone-babbler (Turdinus calcicola).
