Habitat
Lower storey, undergrowth and bamboo of tall broadleaved evergreen forest. From 1,500 - 3,200 m.

Range (Guide)

Bhutan (B), China (mainland) (B), India (B), Myanmar (B), Vietnam (B).

Bhutan and north-eastern India through northern and eastern Myanmar to south-central China (western Yunnan) and northern Vietnam (Tonkin).

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010) and decreasing.

Status NT
Forest clearance and degradation through subsistence logging and shifting cultivation, and susceptibility to hunting, are the main threats.
