Subspecies
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:

sifanica Przewalski, 1876 - West-central China, from central Qinghai and Gansu south to eastern Tibet and central and southern Sichuan.
caraganae Meinertzhagen, R & Meinertzhagen, A, 1926 - North-western India (eastern Kashmir) east to eastern Tibet.
hodgsoniae (Hodgson, 1857) - Western Nepal east to north-eastern India (Assam) and eastern Tibet.
