Habitat
Subtropical and tropical montane moist forest. From 2,200 - 2,600 m, occasionally to as low as 1,800 m.

Range (Guide)

Cameroon (B) (NB).

Bamenda-Banso Highlands of north-western Cameroon.

Population
Estimated population is 2,500 - 9,999 (2010) and decreasing.

Status EN
Habitat loss and degradation from forest clearance for agriculture, grazing, firewood and timber, are the main threats.

Voice
A typical 'kow kow kow' of green turacos but higher-pitched and more rapid delivery. Song readily distinguished from Guinea Turaco (Tauraco persa) by spacing between first note and rest of song.

Forms a superspecies with Red-crested Turaco (Tauraco erythrolophus).
