Subspecies
Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of South American Snipe (Gallinago paraguaiae).
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
- andina Taczanowski, 1875 - Andes of northern Peru to north-western Argentina and northern Chile.
- innotata (Hellmayr, 1932) - Northern Chile (Antofagasta).
