Subspecies
No apparent close relative. Shows characters of both present genus and Chalcomitra.

The following 3 subspecies are recognised:

magnirostrata (Bates, 1930) - Sierra Leone east to Togo.
octaviae Amadon, 1953 - South-western Nigeria, Cameroon and southern Central African Republic east to Uganda (Budongo Forest) and western Kenya (Kakamega Forest), and south to northern Angola and southern DRCongo (Katanga). Also north-western and western Tanzania.
cyanolaema (Jardine & Fraser, 1851) - Bioko I (Fernando P�o).
