Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest and shrubland, dry savanna.

Range (Guide)

Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo [The Democratic Republic of the], Congo [The Democratic Republic of the], Equatorial Guinea, Gabon.

Three apparently disjunct populations: south-western Cameroon east to western Central African Republic and south to south-central Gabon; southern PRCongo, northern Angola (Cabinda) and extreme south-western DRCongo; and western Angola (Uige south to Hu��la).

Estimated population is unknown (2010).

Subspecies
Has in the past been suggested as forming a superspecies with Yellow-bellied Greenbul (Chlorocichla flaviventris), but subsequent studies have not supported such a relationship.

The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

viridescentior Sharpe, 1904 - Southern Cameroon (River Ja region).
falkensteini (Reichenow, 1874) - Western Cameroon and Central African Republic to central Angola.
