Subspecies
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:

quiscalina Finsch, 1869 - Sierra Leone, southern Guinea, northern Liberia, southern Mali, Ivory Coast, central Ghana, western Togo, central Nigeria, western and south-western Cameroon and south-western Central African Republic south to PRCongo and Angola.
martini Jackson, 1912 - Southern Sudan, north-eastern and south-eastern DRCongo, central Uganda, western Kenya and Zambia.
muenzneri Reichenow, 1915 - Highlands of eastern Tanzania.
