Subspecies
No subspecies.

Forms a superspecies with White-eared Tailorbird (Orthotomus cinereiceps) and Yellow-breasted Tailorbird (Orthotomus samarensis), and all sometimes considered conspecific on basis mainly of vocal similarities.
