Breeds in north-central Michigan, in northern USA; migrates to Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Is.
 
Population
Estimated population is 2,500 (2010) and increasing.
Status NT
Habitat loss and degradation on the wintering ground is probably the main threat. Fire suppression and brood-parasitism by Brown-headed Cowbird (Molothrus ater) may also be threats.
