Nest
Cup-shaped, composed of bark, grass and moss, lined with fine grass and feathers, suspended from athin horizontal branch in a thick bush, usually about 8 meters above the ground.
Eggs (Guide)
1 - 2; pink-white, spotted and blotched brown and red-brown, mostly at the larger end; about 18 x 13 mm. Incubation: mainly by female.
Young
Probably fledge in about 15 days.
Subspecies
No subspecies.
Forms a superspecies with Eastern Spinebill (Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris).
Similar Species
Tawny-crowned Honeyeater (Gliciphila melanops) which is larger, has a cinnamon crown, has a shorter, straighter bill.
