Habitat
Subtropical and tropical montane moist forest. From 1,600 - 2,000 m.
USA (E) (B).
Status EX
Last recorded on Moloka`i in 1904. Reports continued until 1915, but searches could find no more birds and it is presumed extinct. Extinction presumably due to habitat destruction by grazing and conversion to agriculture, and predation by introduced species such as the black rat.
