Subspecies
Considered by some to form a superspecies with Rock Earthcreeper (Ochetorhynchus andaecola ).
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
serrana (Taczanowski, 1875) - Andes of northern and central Peru (Cajamarca south to Lima and Junín).
huancavelicae (Morrison, 1938) - Andes of southern Peru (Huancavelica).
