Habitat
Subtropical and tropical dry forest. From sea-level - 500 m, occasionally up to 800 m.

Range (Guide)

Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela.

South-eastern Colombia (eastern Vichada, Meta, Guian��a, Caquet�), south-western Venezuela (Amazonas), north-eastern Peru (Loreto north of R Mara��n) and north-western Brazil (R Negro drainage).

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010).

Subspecies
Appears to be most closely related to Pacific Antwren (Myrmotherula pacifica). Genetic and morphological analyses indicate that both species are part of a monophyletic group that also includes Pygmy Antwren (Myrmotherula brachyura), Moustached Antwren (Myrmotherula ignota), Guianan Streaked Antwren (Myrmotherula surinamensis), Amazonian Streaked Antwren (Myrmotherula multostriata), Klages's Antwren (Myrmotherula klagesi), Stripe-chested Antwren (Myrmotherula longicauda), Sclater's Antwren (Myrmotherula sclateri) and Yellow-throated Antwren (Myrmotherula ambigua) (the "streaked antwren assemblage").
