Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

  • parvirostris (Lawrence, 1865)   -  Caribbean slope of southern Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and probably extreme western Panama.
  • albocoronata (Lawrence, 1855)   -  Both slopes of west-central Panama.
