Unknown.
Bahamas (E) (B).
Status EX
Known only from the type, described in 1877 by Lawrence, from New Providence, Bahamas. The reason for extinction is unknown but may be due to human disturbance.

Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
- bracei ! (Lawrence, 1877) - Northern Bahamas.
- elegans ! (Gould, 1860) - Caribbean. ? Jamaica or Bahamas. Considered by some authors to be a distinct species, Caribbean Emerald (Chlorostilbon elegans).
