Subspecies
Subspecies not well-separated geographically, forming a character introgression zone in northern Peru. Taxonomic treatment of southernmost populations is under review.

The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

condamini (Bourcier, 1851) - Eastern Andes from south-eastern Colombia to northern Peru.
gracilis von Berlepsch & Stolzmann, 1902 - Eastern Andes of Peru and north-western Bolivia.
