Subspecies
Forms a superspecies with Common Yellowthroat (Geothlypis trichas) and Belding's Yellowthroat (Geothlypis beldingi), presumably also including Altamira Yellowthroat (Geothlypis flavovelata) and all have sometimes been regarded as conspecific.
The following 4 subspecies are recognised:
tanneri Ridgway, 1886 - Grand Bahama and Abaco Is, in northern Bahama Is.
exigua Ridgway, 1902 - Andros, in west-central Bahamas.
rostrata Bryant, 1867 - New Providence I, in central Bahamas.
coryi Ridgway, 1886 - Eleuthera I and Cat I, in east-central Bahamas.
