Subspecies
No subspecies.
Formerly placed in genus Archiplanus, as Archiplanus albirostris. However, when included in present genus, that name becomes preoccupied. Has been regarded as closely related to Selva Cacique (Cacicus koepckeae), with the two possibly forming a superspecies. Also close to Ecuadorian Cacique (Cacicus sclateri).
