Habitat
Larger freshwater lakes. From sea-level - 3,800 m.

Range (Guide)

Bolivia (B), Peru (B).

South-eastern Peru and western Bolivia, mainly in L Titicaca.

Population
Estimated population is 1,600 (2010) and decreasing.

Status EN
Gill-net fishing, pollution, and harvesting are the major threats.
