White-bellied Woodstar (Chaetocercus mulsant) [XC574324]
by id from Ukuku Rural Lodge, Juntas, Ibague, Tolima, Colombia @ (4.5585,-75.3275), Colombia (wing noise)

Subspecies
Usually placed in genus Acestrura, along with Little Woodstar (Chaetocercus bombus), Gorgeted Woodstar (Chaetocercus heliodor), Santa Marta Woodstar (Chaetocercus astreans) and Esmeraldas Woodstar (Chaetocercus berlepschi), but no evidence in external morphology justifies treatment in a genus separate from Rufous-shafted Woodstar (Chaetocercus jourdanii). Two similar names for this species proposed by same author in quick succession, leading to some confusion: name mulsant was probably described very slightly earlier (perhaps roughly one month) than mulsanti. "Calothorax decoratus" is probably a hybrid of present species and Gorgeted Woodstar (Chaetocercus heliodor).

No subspecies.
