For more information see BirdLife International Species Factsheet.
Subspecies
Taxonomic status perhaps questionable. Known only from type specimen, an immature female originally identified as Egyptian Nightjar (Caprimulgus aegyptius), and compared only with that species when described. Further study of immature subpecies plumipes of European Nightjar (Caprimulgus europaeus) may also be of interest.
No subspecies.
