Subtropical and tropical montane moist forest. From 2,000 - 3,950 m.
Colombia, Ecuador, Peru.
Eastern and central Andes of Colombia, south to Ecuador (in west, south to El Oro and northern Loja) and Peru (extreme north, also central Andes south to Huánuco and northern Pasco).
