Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest. From sea-level - 1,400 m.
Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil (B), Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela.
Introduced to Puerto Rico.
Eastern Panama through lowland Colombia, Venezuela, the Guianas and Brazil south to Paraguay and west to eastern Ecuador, eastern Peru and north-eastern Bolivia; formerly in northern Argentina.

Estimated population is unknown (2010).
