Subspecies
No subspecies.
May form a superspecies with Wynaad Laughingthrush (Garrulax delesserti), and in the past commonly considered conspecific. Birds from Laos described as a geographical subspecies, auratus, but considered inseparable from those elsewhere in species' range.
