Habitat
Marine, pelagic, in tropical and sub-tropical seas of the Indian Ocean.
Oman (NB), Somalia (NB), Yemen (B) (NB).
Vagrant to Djibouti, Indonesia, Kenya, Maldives, Mozambique, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles.

North-western Indian Ocean, breeding grounds undiscovered; suspected to breed in Oman, either inland in desert mountains, or along coast, e.g. on Kuria Muria Is.

Estimated population is 2,500 - 9,999 (2010) and increasing.
