Northern and eastern Bolivia (south-eastern from Beni and La Paz), south-central Brazil (southern Mato Grosso east to northern Goiás and central Minas Gerais, south to Mato Grosso do Sul and Sío Paulo), Paraguay and northern Argentina (south to Tucumán, eastern Chaco and northern Corrientes); also small numbers north to north-eastern Brazil (Maranhío, southern Amapá) and west to south-eastern Peru (north to Junín at R Ene) during austral winter.
