Fatu Hiva in the Marquesas Islands, French Polynesia.
 
Population
Estimated population is 270 (2010) and decreasing.
Status CR
The black rate (Ratuus rattus ), observed for the first time in February 200, appears to be the main threat.

Voice
A 'cri-ri-a-rik', similar to the shrill meow of a cat whose tail has been stepped on, uttered in alarm.
