Subspecies
The following 5 subspecies are recognised:

benguellensis (Sclater, WL, 1928) - South-western Angola and north-western Namibia.
schlegelii (Wahlberg, 1855) - Coastal Namibia.
namaquensis (Sclater, WL, 1928) - Southern Namibia and north-western South Africa (Northern Cape).
pollux (Hartlaub, 1866) - Western and central South Africa (Western Cape east to western Free State).
kobosensis Roberts, 1937 - Namibia (Great Namaqualand).
