Subspecies
No subspecies.
Taxonomic position uncertain. Often placed with chats in family Turdidae on basis of anatomy and feather structure, and resembles Cercomela chats in voice and habits and in appearance of fledglings. However, recent DNA work suggests it to be closer to Muscicapidae than to Turdidae, and it resembles Bradornis in features such as nest structure, nest-site, eggs, and nestlings' begging call.
