Subspecies
No subspecies.
Formerly included in genus Dromaeocercus on account of similarity of tail structure to that of Brown Emu-tail (Bradypterus brunneus) but other morphological features, however, suggest affinity with grassbird subfamily Megalurinae, rather than with bush-warblers subfamily Acrocephalinae.
