Habitat
Subtropical and tropical montane moist forest. From 1,200 - 2,700 m, occasionally to 3,000 m.
Colombia, Ecuador, Peru.
Andes of extreme south-eastern Colombia, Ecuador and Peru (on western slope south to Cajamarca, on eastern slope south to Cuzco).

Estimated population is unknown (2010).
