Breeds south-western Canada (south-eastern British Columbia, south-western and extreme southern Alberta and southern fringe of Saskatchewan), western USA from central Washington and Oregon and most of California (except south-west) east to western North Dakota and South Dakota, north-western Nebraska, east-central Colorado, northern New Mexico and Arizona, and extreme north-western Mexico (north-western Baja California). Migrates to south-eastern Arizona south through western Mexico to north-western Oaxaca.
