Habitat
Subtropical and montane broadleaved forest, usually with extensive shrub and bamboo undergrowth, often in small stream valleys. From c.700 - 2,000 m.
South-central and southern Sichuan and, disjunctly, north-eastern and eastern Guangxi, in southern China.

Population
Estimated population is 2,500 - 9,999 (2010) and decreasing.
Status VU
Loss and fragmentation of forest through logging, conversion to agriculture and, in Guangxi, uncontrolled fire, is the main threat.
